Preschool Ballet/Tap Comby: Ages 3-6

An introductory level ballet and tap class where dancers play games and participate in creative movements that help establish a basic understanding of the following: First & Second Position of the arms and feet, Plie, Tendu, Eleve, Bourree Turn, Chasse, and arabesque. For the second half of class, they will learn tap through exercises games that help introduce a basic understanding of tap such as: Heel, Toe, Shuffle, Hop, Flap, and stomps. Dancers will participate in creative movement games that help little dancers learn a sense of rhythm. 

 

Kids Hip Hop Movement: Ages 3-6

An introductory level tap class where students play ubeat, and energetic games that help introduce a basic understanding of hip hop dance and develop a sense of rhythm. 

 

Tiny Tots Tumble: Ages 3-6

For the little dancers always on the move! This class will cover basic coordination, flexibility, and inversion work. These little tumblers will start to learn how to master cartwheel, bridges, front & back rolls, and kick ups. 

 

Mommy & Me Creative Movement: Ages 2-4 

Creative Movement is a class that offers little dancers and parents a fun, energetic space to explore, express, and improvise through dancing. Students will develop and refine motor skills and coordination through games and exercises. Dancers will also work on balance and rhythm as well as develop some great social skills! 

 

Flexibility & Coordination: Ages 6-10

This is a beginner level class that focuses on improving flexibility, balance, rhythm, and basic motor skills. This class is a great supplement for dancers who want to be on the competition/ performance team and for students who are taking acro classes. 

 

Ballet 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen 

No experience necessary

This is a beginner level class that is designed to cover the ballet basics which include terminology, proper body alignment, body positions, and developing a sense of body awareness. Students at this level will learn basic level barre exercises, movement combinations, and technical elements. Students who have never danced before are encouraged to take this class at least twice before moving up to Ballet 2. 

 

Ballet 2: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Must have taken Ballet 1. Must have instructor approval

This ballet class will cover the basics of ballet while also incorporating more complex barre sequences, jumps, port de bras. Dancers will focus on more complex center combinations as well as across the floor sequences. As dancers progress from the beginner level, more time will be spent at the barre to focus on proper alignment and to further develop the hamstrings, quads, calves, ankles, and feet. 

Ballet Pointe: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Must have taken several Ballet classes. Must have instructor approval. 

Beginning pointe class can be taken on either in flat or in demi-pointe shoes. All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. Pointe work is a very serious step in Ballet training and requires dedication and discipline. Dancers taking pointe class will also be required to take Ballet 2 or 3. 

 

Tap 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

No experience Necessary 

This is a beginner level Tap class that will focus on footwork and rhythm. Students taking the class will learn basic tap steps and movement patterns with a special focus on musicality, timing, and syncopation. 

 

Tap 2: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen  

Must have taken Beginner Tap at least once and with Instructor approval. 

This class is designed to present students with more challenging footwork and rhythms. Dancers will begin to experiment with speed and rhythmic sounds. 

 

Hip Hop 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

No experience necessary.

This is a beginner level Hip Hop course that will focus on rhythm, isolations, and the fundamentals of hip hop in an upbeat environment. Students will learn fast paced, energetic styles that help develop rhythm while encouraging the dancer to incorporate their own freestyle movements. 

 

Hip Hop 2: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Must have taken Beginner Hip Hop and with instructor approval 

This is a beginner level Hip Hop course for students with previous experience that will focus on the basics learned in Beginner with an introduction to footwork, popping/locking, waving, and have an increased focus on musicality. Students will learn fast paced, energetic styles that help develop rhythm and allow for freestyle incorporation. 

Hip Hop: Beginner Breakdance: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

No experience necessary, but it is advised you take Hip hop 1 as well. 

Students in this class will explore the basics of hip hop with emphasis on locking, popping, and break dance styles.

Jazz 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

No experience necessary

Introductory class where students will learn the basics of American jazz dance. This class will introduce the precision, rhythm, and expressive style of jazz while also focusing on isolations and syncopated rhythms. Key technical elements such as: chaine turns, single pirouettes, jazz turns, straight leaps, and develope leaps will also be covered. 

Jazz 2: Elementary, Preteen, Teen

Must have taken Jazz 1 and with instructor approval

A continuation of Jazz one with more emphasis on multiple turns, leg extensions, and more challenging leaps and turn sequences. Students in this class will work through more challenging combinations to establish a stronger technical base. 

 

Afro Jazz: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen 

Must have taken jazz one

Afro-Jazz dance is a fusion of African, Afro-Brazilian, Caribbean and American jazz dance styles. The classes are upbeat and energetic with an emphasis on performance quality. 

 

Contemporary 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Student must have taken at least a beginner ballet class or must be simultaneously enrolled in ballet.

This course is a combination of Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop styles with a focus of muscialty and improvisation. Dancers will learn basic terminology and techniques for each style as well as how to combine them to form new movements. 

 

Contemporary 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Must have taken beginner contemporary and with instructor approval. 

This course is a continuation of beginner contemporary. Students focus on dance technique, flow of movement, musicality, and expression of emotions through dance. 

Contemporary Broadway Style : Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen By Hetal Nagaraj.

Particular to Broadway Style. Must know some jazz, lyrical, ballet techniques but not required. Depending on level you join, it will be implemented and taught under or by Ms. Hetal. Ms. Hetal has level by level training for an exclusive this style of Contemporary. This course focuses on broadway style only. Ms. Hetal will be taking this class. Right now, Beginners, Intermediate to Advance Welcome.

Teams-Strict Auditions.

 

Lyrical 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen 

Must take Ballet Basics or Ballet 1. A higher level class where students learn to dance in a way that focuses on the fluidity and control of movements. Strong emphasis on ballet technique and terminology as well as musicality and rhythm. This class is designed for students with some ballet training. 

 

Lyrical 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen 

Must have taken Lyrical 1 and with instructor approval.

Students will continue building on Lyrical 1 lessons. Dancers will begin to explore partnering and improvisation styles. Students learn to tell a story through dancing and become more familiar with expressing emotion through dance. 

 

Modern 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Must have taken Ballet basics or Ballet 1. This course is an introductory level that teaches students the foundations of classical modern dance. Dancers will learn spirals, basic floorwork, contracting, initiation of movement, and working through space. This class has an emphasis on creative movement and expressing emotions through flow and elements around us. 

 

Modern 2: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Must have taken Modern 1 and with instructor approval. This course will incorporate the foundations learned in the modern 1 class adding on an emphasis for suspension and release, fall and recovery, as well as the use of momentum and connecting breathing with movement. Dancers will explore new ways of moving in combinations, floor work and partnering, lifts, and also in various methods of improvisation.

 

Drill Team Prep 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

No experience necessary. This class is for dancers who plan to audition for their school dance team, or who are already a part of a school dance team and would like to further their skills. Dancers will start with a warm up and stretch that focuses on improving flexibility as well as strength. The course will have an emphasis on kick technique, basic turn, leaps, and splits. 

 

Drill Team Prep 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Must have taken Beginners class OR currently a member of a school dance team. This class is a continuation of Beginner drill prep and will focus on hyperflexibility, advanced turns and jumps, and more challenging movement sequences. 

 

Strength & Conditioning: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

No experience necessary. This class focuses on building flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination. Dancers will start with a warm up and go through a full body exercise with a large portion of the class focusing on stretch and strength building. 

 

Acro 1: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

No experience necessary (Tiny Tots Tumble preferred if age is applicable). This class introduces basic acro/tumbling movements and techniques with a strong emphasis on stretching and strengthening exercises for building a strong muscular foundation. Basic moves learned include things such as Splits and Backbends,and floor skills while learning routines and combinations. Students will also work skills such as front and back walkovers, chin stands,layouts, hand balancing, cartwheels, and other contortion tricks.

 

Acro 2: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Must have taken Beginner acro and with instructor approval. This class reintroduces basic acro/tumbling fundamentals and technique. Dancers will be introduced to the following skills: back layout, back tuck, chest stand, elbow stand, front tuck, handspring, handstand, kip-up, and side aerials. 

 

Musical Theater: Elementary, Pre-Teen, Teen

Must take beginner jazz first. A jazz-based class that focuses on broadway style dancing and music. Students. This class has an emphasis on performing skills such as emotions, facial expressions, and connecting with the audience 

 

Adult Classes: For Adults 18

We offer fun and energetic adult dance classes for those wanting to get back into dancing, or just wanting to get back into shape. All of our adult classes are taught at the beginner/intermediate level and you are more than welcomed to modify movement as you need.

Praise Dance (Christian Faith) :

Praise dance: contemporary & Modern dance combined with spiritual song and folklore of traditional Christian spirituality.

Gyrokinesis:

Helps to create and mobilize movement through space and time. While sitting and/or standing, in fluid circular and figure eight movement, Gyrokinesis helps mobilize all joints of body to increase air flow, stamina, strength, and the building of endorphins.(I.e Deep breathing, contracting, stretching, mostly while sitting)

World Dance-Afro Fusion:

A set of many traditional west African and Caribbean style choreography infused with western styles to create broad movements. This fusion of dance requires a lot of grounded movements which, historically, was used as a battle technique to keep African warriors hidden form the enemies. In this, dancers bodies are, too, closest to the floor as much as possible to preserve tradition and to also serve the dancer in transitional, and synchronized movements.(Lapas are required; skirt-like wraps representing modesty)

Improvisation:

Dancers are given a series of different words, phrases, stories, props, shapes, etc. and will portray movements as such to prepare for moments of teaching, onstage incidents, creation of choreography, and allowing a positive space for dancers to create and establish solo readiness.

Meditation :

Blank-space, Mindfulness, & imagery: Dancers bodies are put through a lot of strain and tension, and outside lives can also effect a dancer’s performance inside and out the studio. Meditation practices allow dancers to reconnect themselves to themselves in their mind, body, and intimately spirit. -To clear their heads, a blank-space meditation allows the dancer to think of nothing, to worry about nothing, to be at peace within themselves.

-Mindfulness meditation allows the dancer to come into consciousness, to become aware of themselves and the space around them, looking at an object, place, or person in detail through the intensive focus perspective.

-Imagery meditation allows the dancer, though stillness, mental execution of group dances, solos, and more to embed the importance of mind to body connectivity.

Adult Dance Classes/Lessons are Avaiable for ALL Genres. Couple Dances Are Available-Seperately.

Introductory Classes for all ages. Students are introduced to preparing their body for Martial Arts Training and Strength for one of the oldest dance as martial arts form - Kalaripayattu. Level 4 Martial Arts class where students start their Martial Arts Training and Strength with Balance. From Flexibility to Various Kicks such as Flying Kicks to Scissors and Circular Kicks, building body-strength, balance, endurance this class offers perfect blend of activities. Understanding of body movements with endurance, balance & fleixbility with terms in Martial Arts are introduced to students. Props/Weapons are introduced to prepare them. Advance Kalaripayattu class where endurance, flexibility, body movements to everything and mental focus is at the peak and taken to next level. Students Learn Multiple Kicks in one go with circular kicks with speed and weapon handling. Fight techniques are introduced at this level alongwith safety. Safety is taught at this level itself to practice martial arts with all techniques. One of our most-successful Program under Hetal Nagaraj.
